In any early episode of Mad Men, Don Draper and crew created an ad concept for Playtex, asking women if they were a Marilyn or a Jackie. In the video for “National Anthem” Lana Del Rey bucks the concept of either/or, kicking off the clip with an interpretation of Monroe’s saucy “Happy Birthday Mr. President” to a JFK-portraying A$AP Rocky. Ultimately, Del Rey becomes Jackie; as for Rocky, well, we all know how this ends. (via The Fader…)
