New DJ Khaled featuring Kanye West and Rick Ross: “I Wish You Would”…

Nah Right has pointed to a new DJ Khaled track, “I Wish You Would”, featuring Kanye West and Rick Ross. As you may recall, Kanye and Khaled collaborated on “Theraflu” earlier this year (which was changed to “Way Too Cold”, and is now just “Cold”). Khaled’s album Kiss the Ring is out August 21. Check out “I Wish You Would” here. (via Pitchfork…)

Report: Chief Keef Makes NYC DebutPhotos and Review of the Chicago Phenom’s S.O.B.’s Show Last Night…

In January, the Chicago rapper Chief Keef was a 16-year-old South Side kid serving out a house-arrest sentence at his grandmother’s while his rap videos racked up local YouTube hits. Last night, Keef made his official New York debut at S.O.B.’s, the landing pad for many out-of-towner hip-hop debuts over the years, including, once upon a time, Kanye West’s.

Keef and West had crossed paths recently after Kanye scooped up Keef’s song “I Don’t Like” and pumped it full of guest rappers, extra synths, and choral “OH!’S,” thus rendering a street-rap hit officially radio-playable. It was this West-ian infusion of star power— along with recent news that Keef had signed a lucrative deal with Interscope Records— that might have been somewhat responsible for the swarm-the-front-door urgency outside S.O.B.’s. Video: Kanye West featuring Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Pusha T, “Mercy”…

The video for Kanye West’s “Mercy” is a surprisingly sparse affair. A leather-clad crew including collaborators Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Pusha T dance in a nearly empty parking lot. The black and white clip may not have the intensity of West’s recent “No Church in the Wild” or the bright colors of the Enter the Void-referencing “All of the Lights,” but it’s still just as nice-looking as one would expect. What’s Beef: Lil Wayne, Pusha-T, and a Hip-Hop Feud of Biblical Proportions…

Hear Weezy’s limp response to the Kanye West-signed rapper’s YMCMB-targeting “Exodus: 23:1”

"Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness." That’s the Bible verse that serves as the title of former Clipse half Pusha T’s snarling, Notorious B.I.G.-sampling track released last week, "Exodus 23:1." Though most media reports so far have cited modern, Americanized translations, there’s a certain poetry in the classic King James version. That word, "wicked," says a lot: The Virginia Beach hip-hop veteran didn’t just quote the ninth of the Ten Commandments, which warns against bearing "false witness"; he carefully aimed his shots at someone who was teaming up with, in his Manichean worldview, the bad guys.

It’s masterful hip-hop marketing, and so far it looks like Pusha is winning. (Listen and More via SPIN…)

Video: Jay-Z and Kanye West featuring Frank Ocean, “No Church in the Wild”…

Jay-Z and Kanye West already have a video not for the faint of heart under their belt with the epilepsy-trigging clip for “Niggas in Paris” but the third Watch the Throne clip, “No Church in the Wild” has its own brand of discomfort. If its raid theme gives you flashbacks to M.I.A.’s video for “Born Free,” that’s because the visuals were created by the same director, Roman Gavras. (Video and More via The Fader…)

Kanye, Beyonce, Jay-Z Dominate BET Awards 2012 Nominations…

The 12th annual BET Awards nominees are officially out, and the Watch the Throne power triangle has the most nods on lock, BET president Stephen Hill announced at a press conference yesterday morning on a special edition of its show 106 and Park. Kanye West led the pack, raking in seven nominations, two of which (for Video of the Year, with “Otis” and “Niggas in Paris”) he shares with Jay-Z, who picked up five. Beyoncé, the First Lady (or Queen Bey, depending on degree of fandom) of music, pulled in one more than her husband, including Best Female R&B Artist and two spots in the Video of the Year category for her awesome “Countdown” and “Love on Top” clips.

Big Sean also earned three nods, while Rihanna (who won Best Female R&B Artist last year), Usher, Bruno Mars, Mary J. Blige, A$AP Rocky, and Melanie Fiona all received at least one. (More via SPIN…)

Kanye West’s ‘Cruel Summer’ Album/Film: 5 Safe Assumptions…

Kanye West’s upcoming G.O.O.D. Music label compilation will be titled Cruel Summer, and he’ll be premiering a film of the same name on May 23 at the Cannes Film Festival in France, Island Def Jam has announced.

Created by West and his recently formed fashion venture, Donda, the film will be shown on seven screens and is being touted as a mix of short film and art installation. A poster promoting the event says West directed and co-wrote the film, and it will feature both rapper Kid Cudi and comedian Aziz Ansari. Cruel Summer will be showing for two days, and tickets are available through West’s website.

The Cannes premiere follows a few weeks after the video for West’s “Lost in the World,” from 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The film also comes as West ramps up the publicity for his G.O.O.D. comp, releasing a star-studded remix of Chicago rapper Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” on the heels of his own “Way Too Cold” (née “Theraflu”) and posse cut “Mercy.” (More via SPIN…)

Q&A: Hit-Boy on ‘Ni—as in Paris’ Success & His Own Rap Career…

Hit-Boy is living up to his name. The Southern California native (born Chauncey Hollis in Pasadena) co-produced “Ni**as in Paris,” the double-platinum hit from Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne. With another West track (“Way Too Cold”) under his belt, Hit-Boy is juggling various projects including West’s upcoming solo album, a G.O.O.D. Music set, as well as sessions with A$AP Rocky, Nas, Justin Bieber and Big Sean.

Hit-Boy grew up with music. His uncle, Rodney Benford, was a member of Troop, a group that scored two No. 1 R&B hits in 1990 with “Spread My Wings” and “All I Do Is Think of You.” Watching Bow Wow on TV prompted then-13-year-old Chauncey to pen his own raps. However, the fledgling rapper grew more enamored with crafting beats. His first placement, at 20 years old, was the track “Forever” on Jennifer Lopez’s Brave album, and he claimed his second big break collaborating on West’s “Christmas in Harlem” after meeting Kanye’s cousin, Ricky Anderson.

Signed to G.O.O.D. and Universal Music Publishing Group, Hit-Boy boasts a rapidly expanding discography, including tracks by Lil Wayne featuring Eminem (“Drop the World”), Kelly Rowland featuring Big Sean (“Lay It on Me”), Jennifer Hudson (“I Remember Me”), Pusha T (“My God”), Rihanna (“Watch N Learn”) and Joe Jonas (“Lighthouse”). [The Fader’s] Favorite Looks from the Met Ball…

Every May, Anna Wintour rounds up the biggest celebrities in the world for the annual Met Ball, a gala in honor of New York’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute. It’s like the Oscars for fashion, and since it’s Vogue-sponsored, there’s no shortage of amazing dresses to gawk at. But as we did last year, we like to sift through the high fashion and A-list actresses to zero in on the ladies and gentlemen that matter most in our universe, the folks who bring a little weirdness and personal style to an event that has plenty of beautiful, if less interesting, Grecian column dresses and frou frou tulle. First up, pictured above, are Beyonce and Kanye West, who both wore Givenchy and looked like the groom and bride on top of the wedding cake at a very, very cool wedding. (More Looks at The Fader…)

Chief Keef and Fat Trel, “Russian Roulette” MP3…

Before Kanye West’s remix propelled Chief Keef to another echelon of notoriety, the rapper had linked up, in one of hip-hop’s most congruent collaborations, with DC’s own dreadlocked-and-tattooed Fat Trel. The Lex Luger-produced “Russian Roulette” is monstrous, and a sort-of sequel to Trel’s 2011 track “Respect with this Tech.” (When I spoke with Keef earlier in the year, not only did he mention being a fan of Fat Trel’s, but rapped the entirety of the latter song’s hook.) Birdman Trying to Sign Chief Keef to Cash Money…

Birdman isn’t stopping at signing Limp Bizkit. The Cash Money CEO has also stepped into an apparent bidding war over the ever-buzzing Chief Keef, the Chicago rapper whose breakout song was recently blessed by Kanye West. Birdman keeps pressing on as a musician, too, most recently releasing a music video for his cameo-studded track “B Boyz.”

Birdman is looking to bring Chief Keef into the star-studded Young Money fold, MTV reports. “I like him, he kinda reminds me of us,” Birdman is quoted as saying about Keef. “[He’s] out the streets, I think he’s swagged up and I’m definitely talking to his people and I’d like to see if we can make it pop, see if I can see if I can get him to be down with the team.” Keef himself tweeted in April, “Birdman Just Called He Say He Wanna Sign Me Wit #CMB.” (Read More at SPIN…)

Kanye West featuring Pusha T, Chief Keef, Jadakiss and Big Sean, “I Don’t Like (Remix)”…

When it was announced that Kanye West would be remxing Chief Keef and Lil Reese’s Young Chop-produced “I Don’t Like” it may have posed as a head scratcher to some, but the undeniable toughness of the track is so palpable, how could to believe that West declared it runner-up to his most favorite song? But what really links Keef and Kanye, aside from their Chicago roots, is that they both have the ability to relentlessly churn out music. Sure, when West rapped about [locking himself] in a room doin’ five beats a day for three summers, it was self-imposed. Even though Keef was housebound for legal reasons, it takes the same kind of real hunger to be that fastidious about your output. For the remix, West enlists his G.O.O.D. Music family members Pusha T and Big Sean, as well as Yonkers’ rap linchpin, Jadakiss. With the remix out, Keef’s accolades will continue to roll in, but we can already see the movement bubbling in our midst. Download at The Fader…

For Sale: Kanye West’s Gold ‘Yeezi’ Necklace…

When [Rolling Stone] had the pleasure of reporting that Kanye West’s incredibly strange “cloven-hoof heels” were legitimately selling for $6,000 at upscale French retailer Colette back in February, they were among the few creations from his clothing label to find a commercial presence. That’s now changed: after showing a much better Fall collection shortly after, he stands a chance of getting his threads in the hands of luxury consumers. You can probably count on Colette to continue their loyalty; they just announced they will now carry West’s buzzed-about gold “Yeezi” necklace, which was the rare item from his debut runway show left unscorned.
