Curren$y and Wale’s collaboration, “What it Look Like,” is pretty lovely for a baller bravado track, the harps throughout adding a bit of light. Wale’s pop culture references run a weird gamut from Pinocchio (money got me pulling strings, I got that Geppetto dough) to associating Curren$y’s JetLife mantra with the New York Jets’ coach, Rex Ryan. Curren$y Announces New Album, Tour…
For his new studio album, the ever-prolific Curren$y seems to be taking cues from the Doors. The record, out June 5 via Warner Bros., is called The Stoned Immaculate, and he’ll go on the “Jet Life: The Stoned Immaculate” tour in support of the release later this month. (Tour Dates and More HERE…)
Curren$y Sues Damon Dash for $1.5 Million; Dash’s Attorney Responds…
On Sunday (March 25), news broke that Curren$y had filed a lawsuit against Damon Dash for releasing his material without permission.
In 2010, Spitta and Dash were working on an agreement to release music on Dash’s label, BluRoc, according to TMZ. However, the deal was never solidified, and Curren$y signed with Warner Bros in early 2011. Allegedly Dash continued to release music of the New Orleans rhymesayer, despite Warner’s exclusive rights to Curren$y’s material, leading to his lawsuit claiming $1.5 million in damages for the unauthorized release.
